"After months of pretending to care about the economic benefits from the USMCA for hardworking middle-class Americans, Speaker Pelosi today said that a vote on this bipartisan agreement could slip into 2020," said Rep. Estes. "Farmers, ranchers and manufacturers in Kansas and across the country lose out on jobs and economic growth every day the USMCA is not enacted. This is yet another example of the majority prioritizing their hatred of the president over pursuing real accomplishments. Although they are consumed with impeachment, I urge my Democratic colleagues and the Speaker to put Americans first and let us vote on the USMCA when the House returns in December." The USMCA was announced more than 415 days ago and has received broad bipartisan support from leaders in agriculture, manufacturing, business and politicians of both parties. Despite Speaker Pelosi's statement just last week that a vote was imminent and adjusting the House calendar for Members of Congress to stay in session for an additional week in December, it appears that USMCA may not be considered before the House adjourns in 2019.
