The legislation, the Championing Healthy Kids Act, passed the House 242-174 and now heads to the Senate. The bill also reauthorizes Federal Qualified Health Centers (community health centers) and the National Health Service Corps, among other programs. “I strongly support the CHIP program, which helps thousands of West Virginia children stay healthy. West Virginia has enough funding for CHIP through March 2018, but we need to reauthorize this important program quickly to provide certainty for families across West Virginia. This legislation also reauthorizes our community health centers, vital primary care providers for many West Virginians.
