The National Defense Authorization Act, which the U.S. House of Representatives passed 356-70 today, will give our men and women in uniform a much-deserved pay increase. It also provides much-needed funding and resources for our troops to fulfill their missions and protect the homeland, including support to combat ISIS and other terrorist organizations in Afghanistan and Iraq. “Our brave men and women in uniform put their lives on the line so we can live in freedom, and I will always ensure that they have the support and tools they need to complete their missions. This bill gives our military much-needed resources, including planes, ships and vehicles, to combat and destroy ISIS and radical Islamic terrorism. Meanwhile, we also must care for our troops during their service, and we have included a pay raise so they can provide for their families.
