"Grants ranging from $500,000 to $5 million will be available on a competitive basis. If your government agency or organization is interested in applying, now is the time to act," said Evans, who serves on the House Agriculture Committee and fought to protect anti-hunger programs in the new 5-year federal farm bill. The U.S. Department of Agriculture intends to work with grant recipients to evaluate how Summer EBT can best be deployed as a complement of existing nutrition assistance options, and to test innovative strategies for building and operating Summer EBT projects efficiently, effectively, and with integrity.
