The legislation fully funds veterans’ health care and benefits while making targeted investments to strengthen military readiness, improve quality of life for servicemembers and their families, and modernize critical infrastructure. “Supporting our veterans and servicemembers is one of Congress’s most important responsibilities,” Fedorchak said. “This legislation fully funds veterans’ health care and benefits, strengthens mental health and suicide prevention programs, improves military housing and barracks, and supports the strong care our troops and veterans have earned through their service to our country.” The legislation provides $450.3 billion for the Department of Veterans Affairs, including full funding for veterans’ medical care, benefits, and toxic exposure-related care for veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other hazardous substances during military service. The bill also includes: Full funding for the Community Care program, helping veterans access specialty care closer to home. Investments in veterans’ mental health and suicide prevention programs. More than $2 billion for improvements to VA medical facilities and national cemeteries. Increased investment for barrack upgrades and to improve military family housing. Support for child development centers serving military families.
