Randy Feenstra (R-Hull), and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, two pieces of legislation to reduce the complex and costly regulatory burden on Iowa small businesses. “Iowa small businesses are the backbone of our Main Streets, support good-paying jobs, and power economic growth in communities of all sizes. Earlier this year, to support our small businesses, we increased the death tax exemption and made critical tax cuts permanent as part of President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts. These provisions will grow our economy and help businesses keep their doors open,” said Rep. Feenstra. “However, our small businesses face too many regulatory burdens to operate, hire new employees, and make a profit, and under the Biden administration alone, small businesses faced almost $2 trillion in regulatory costs. That’s why I supported two bills to reduce costly and burdensome regulations on Iowa small businesses so that we can grow our economy, invest in Main Street, and keep our communities strong.” The two pieces of legislation that Feenstra supported are as follows: The Small Business Regulatory Reduction Act, which would require the Small Business Administration (SBA) to ensure that new SBA rules do not cost small businesses additional dollars.
