The companies earned the recognition for hiring or retaining military veterans as employees. They were honored on Tuesday afternoon in a virtual ceremony organized by the Department of Labor. As we prepare to observe and celebrate Veterans Day, it's incredible to see local businesses earn this national recognition for their commitment to hiring military veterans, Congresswoman Finkenauer said. Veterans bring skill, commitment and valuable perspective to the workplace when they're given the opportunity. Congratulations to Circle Computer Resources and Marion Process Solutions for this recognition, and thank you for helping Iowa veterans succeed. Circle Computer Resources received a platinum HIRE Vets Medallion awarded to medium-sized companies with 51-499 employees. Marion Process Solutions earned the platinum medallion for small businesses with under 50 employees. To meet the criteria for a platinum medallion, at least 10 percent of the companies' new hires in 2019 had to be veterans, or they had to retain at least 85 percent of veteran workers for at least a year and maintain a workforce comprised of at least 10 percent veterans.
