Monday's stop was an opportunity to hear from small business owner in downtown Fayette on what tools are most helpful to entrepreneurs as they start and grow their businesses in rural communities. Finkenauer stopped at six local businesses in Fayette: Poor Automotive Beauty Room Fayette Sweets Shrubb's Street Eatery Scott Pharmacy Driftless Area Guide Company Finkenauer also visited Upper Iowa University. Earlier this year, Finkenauer led a bipartisan effort that secured robust funding for programs that help entrepreneurs develop and grow their businesses, including Small Business Development Centers, Microloan Technical Assistance, Women's Business Centers, State and Trade Export Promotion, Veterans Business Outreach Centers, and SCORE, which connects budding entrepreneurs with experienced business leaders who volunteer their assistance. The Trump Administration had previously proposed cuts to these programs but Finkenauer successfully worked with her Democratic and Republican colleagues in the House of Representatives, not only preventing the cuts but strengthening the programs that have been working for entrepreneurs across the state.
