After his historic career in the NFL, Madden went on to become a commentator, with his sportscasting career spanning from 1979 to 2009, covering 11 total Super Bowls and winning 16 Sports Emmy Awards. To this day, he is still considered one of the greatest coaches and broadcasters in NFL history. “It is an honor to introduce legislation that memorializes the football legend, John Madden, in his birthplace of Austin, Minnesota,” said Rep. Finstad. “Madden had a one-of-a-kind career and Minnesota’s First District is lucky to be a part of it. I look forward to keeping his legacy alive for years to come.” | 1 | 2026-05-28T06:29:45Z | 2026-05-28T06:31:18Z |
