Glawe, who passed away in 2016, spent 36 years working as a mail carrier in the Vergas community. The legislation was first introduced by Representative Michelle Fischbach (R-MN), who led its passage through the House in September. The bill now goes to the President’s desk to be signed into law. “Jon Glawe had the chance to travel the world in the U.S. Army, but ultimately, his heart was in Vergas, MN where he returned to marry his high school sweetheart and become a staple in his community,” said Congresswoman Fischbach. “He ran a dairy farm, raised three children, and for 36 years he ran the postal route as his father had, often going above and beyond his duties, such as delivering necessities like medicine and food during snow storms. He loved his rural roots and his community loved him back. It was an honor to author this legislation and I am overjoyed to memorialize Jon in this way.”	1	2026-03-30T01:40:41Z	2026-04-08T03:32:05Z
