This week, USDA announcedWashington county has been added to this disaster designation. “I’m encouraged to see Secretary Vilsack and USDA, per my recommendation, dove deeper into the circumstances on the ground and included Washington County as a contiguous disaster area. I hope the Secretary takes a closer look at how drought conditions have impacted the entire Fifth Congressional District and add Dodge County to this disaster designation as farm operators in this county need help too”said Congressman Fitzgerald. Farm operators in Waukesha, Milwaukee, Jefferson, and Washington counties may be eligible for USDA assistance.
