Friends and fellow Nebraskans… It has now been almost two weeks since Hamas unleashed brutal attacks on Israel. More than thirteen hundred Israelis and over thirty Americans have been killed by terrorists. And now many expect Hamas will use hostages and even Palestinian civilians as body shields as the war progresses. The photos and videos circulating in the news and on social media are gut-wrenching. I am here to say America will continue to stand by Israel as the country continues to respond to the evil perpetrated by Hamas. I’ve been encouraged by the quick response of the U.S. President and U.S. Senators who have already visited Israel. Here at home, Americans are coming together to do everything we can to support Israel in the war. Initial steps have been taken to stop Iran from accessing the six billion dollars that President Biden was returning. We need to ensure that Iran never has access to that money, which would give them more flexibility to further support Hamas and other terrorists who want to harm Israel and America. We also need to deliver aid to support Israel, so that they have all the tools they need to crush Hamas. This is critical and I look forward to voting on this in the coming weeks. As Israel fights this war, I want our friends to know that the House stands with you. We support you.
