| https://fong.house.gov/media/press-releases/rep-vince-fongs-statement-political-gimmicks-governor-newsoms-call-special | Rep. Vince Fong’s Statement on the Political Gimmicks of Governor Newsom’s Call for a Special Session | 2024-11-07 | 2024 | 2024-11 | Republican | House | CA | Vince Fong | F000480 | fong.house.gov | fong | https://fong.house.gov/media/press-releases | scraper | “Californians continue to express serious concerns with the direction of the state and instead of collaborating with the incoming Trump Administration to help advance the needs of our state, this special session further shows that the Newsom Administration only cares about political gimmicks. Californians rejected Governor Newsom’s agenda and Americans rejected VP Harris’s policies modeled after Governor Newsom this week, but he apparently didn’t get the message. To call a special session for the California Legislature in December to authorize diverting even more precious taxpayer dollars from Californians to sue the Trump Administration before it has even taken office is more political theater. At a time when our state is struggling financially, Governor Newsom is focused on his own presidential ambitions - using taxpayers as his piggy bank.” | 1 | 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z | 2026-04-07T22:07:06Z |
