I’m especially pleased that the report included findings on the importance of a secure digital identity infrastructure, which is an essential element for protecting people against harmful deepfake impersonations. I’m also glad that the report recommended maintaining support for the research and innovation driving this technology, especially at our national laboratories. “While this report is an important first step, there is a great deal of work that lies before us. I look forward to continuing to work across the aisle in the new Congress to turn the report’s findings into meaningful AI legislation, ensuring our nation is able to both harness the potential of AI and protect against the national security and societal dangers this technology poses.” A copy of the report can be found here. ### 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:07:19Z
