This award will fund a portion of the Terminal 2 ticketing check-in, baggage claim areas, security checkpoint, and international arrival processing area. This funding will also significantly enhance accessibility with new and modernized restroom facilities and reconstructed arrival and departure curbs to comply with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. In September 2024, Congresswomen Foushee and Ross were joined by Senators Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Ted Budd (R-NC) in supporting RDU’s application for this grant. In 2023, RDU led the nation in growth with a record 14.5 million passengers and this year, the number of travelers is already 10.5% higher.
