Foxx. “By both learning and upholding the values and traditions within their chosen branch, these young men and women will go on to become top notch military officers and serve the United States at home and abroad.” Who is Eligible? An applicant for a nomination must meet the following eligibility requirements as of July 1 of the year of admission to a service academy. He or she must be at least 17 years old, but not have passed their 23rd birthday, must be a United States citizen, a resident of North Carolina’s 5th congressional district and must be unmarried, not pregnant, and have no legal obligation to support children or other dependents. Application Details Students interested in a nomination should contact my Dallas District Office in the spring of their junior year in high school or the summer before their senior year in high school.
