This bill increases pressure on Russia’s energy and financial sectors and imposes consequences on countries that continue major purchases of Russian energy or help Moscow get around U.S. sanctions. It also maintains important sanctions against Iran. “A stronger Russia has more resources to challenge the United States and our allies, while Iran continues to fund terrorism and threaten American interests.
