https://fulcher.house.gov/2024/06/06/id-8285aabe-7fec-4697-b427-cb1605410b54/ PRESS RELEASE – Fulcher, Risch, Crapo, Demand Immediate Action on Albeni Falls Dam 2024-06-06 2024 2024-06 Republican House ID Russ Fulcher F000469 fulcher.house.gov fulcher https://fulcher.house.gov/category/press-releases/ scraper FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, June 5 CONTACT: Christianne Allen, Christianne.Allen@mail.house.gov Marisa Melton, marisa.melton@mail.house.gov Fulcher, Risch, Crapo, Demand Immediate Action on Albeni Falls Dam WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Congressman Russ Fulcher and U.S. Senators Jim Risch and Mike Crapo sent the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers a letter today demanding immediate action to enable the Albeni Falls Dam in North Idaho to resume normal operations. “Albeni Falls Dam provides flood control, energy production, and recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike. . . It is of great interest to us and our constituents how dam operations will be affected by the discovery of the defects in the spillway gate. We urge the Corps to give this matter the highest priority […] and find the resources necessary to return Albeni Falls Dam to regular operations, “ wrote the legislators. Earlier this year, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers discovered a defect in the metal of a spillway gate at Albeni Falls Dam. The Corps reduced operations of all spillway gates, impacting water levels on Lake Pend Oreille and the Pend Oreille River. This is limiting critical recreation for the community and hurting business owners and residents throughout the region. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:11:47Z
