The majority in the House has been so busy working on their tax heist for the rich that theyve abdicated their responsibility to govern on behalf of the American people and take our national security seriously. They have also failed to consult in meaningful ways with their Senate counterparts. This bill does nothing to address long-term funding for our military, which I strongly support, nor does it adequately address our other national security needs by providing increased funding for agencies like the Department of Homeland Security or the Department of State. This leaves us vulnerable at a time of great instability across the world. Finally, the passage of this bill eliminated the best immediate opportunity we had to address the fate for 800,000 young men and women whose only country theyve ever known is the United States. The DACA question remains unresolved, and I look forward to January 19th, when once again an opportunity exists to pass the DREAM Act and protect thousands of young people in my district, across the state, and across the country. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
