I appreciate the FCC moving forward with our bipartisan request to hold a public auction of wireless spectrum in a transparent, open process, Gianforte said. I'll continue working to ensure a public auction results in proceeds for critical projects, including expanding reliable access to broadband to underserved areas. I look forward to working with the FCC to address concerns in rural communities and bring 5G connectivity to all Americans. Gianforte introduced the bipartisan Clearing Broad Airwaves for New Deployment (C-BAND) Act, H.R. 4855, in October. The bill requires a public auction of C-Band spectrum in a manner that promotes competition, spurs the 5G revolution, and yields revenue for important domestic priorities. In July, Gianforte and U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R-Mont.) sent a letter to FCC Chairman Ajit Pai urging the FCC to use a public auction to clear as much spectrum as possible and to consider the needs of rural communities. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
