Congressman Jimmy Gomez (D Los Angeles) issued the following statement after voting NO on H.R. 1370, the Continuing Resolution, which passed the House today with a 231-188 vote.Today, House Republicans turned their backs on working families in my district and across the country. I voted no on the Continuing Resolution because this is yet another last-minute stopgap measure that leaves far too many priorities that Americans value unaddressed. A day after Republicans added $1.5 trillion to the debt with their tax bill, they couldnt find a way to fully fund the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP), community health centers, or protect DREAMers.
