Since May of 2022, President López Obrador has continued a troubling pattern of harassment towards Vulcan, beginning with a forced shutdown of the company’s quarry in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Since then, the Mexican President has ordered a two-week occupation of the quarry, followed by a threat to take Vulcan’s property unless they agree to sell their property at a fraction of its fair market value. The letter states, “[w]e are extremely concerned the appalling and inexcusable actions of President López Obrador against Vulcan and other U.S.-owned companies call into question the rule of law in Mexico. As such, we respectfully request you schedule a meeting with our Congressional delegation to brief us on actions you will undertake to deter continued aggression from President López Obrador and his administration towards Vulcan.” Congressmen Gonzalez and Pfluger were joined by Congressmen Henry Cuellar (TX-28), Jake Ellzey (TX-06), Morgan Luttrell (TX-08), Keith Self (TX-03), Chip Roy (TX-21), Nathaniel Moran (TX-01), Dan Crenshaw (TX-02), Lance Gooden (TX-05), Randy K.
