(AZ-04) issued the following statement in response to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy’s (ONDCP) decision to award $125,000 Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program grant to the City of Yuma to work to prevent youth substance use. “I am pleased to announce that the City of Yuma and the Yuma County Anti-Drug Coalition will receive this critical funding to continue efforts to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and prescription drug misuse among our youth. Sadly, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused an increase in drug use and addiction, particularly among our youth. This funding will make a big difference in decreasing youth substance use in our community and help save lives during these unprecedented times,” concluded Congressman Paul Gosar. Jonathon Lines, Yuma County Supervisor District 2 added, “This funding will help coalitions throughout the county have the necessary resources to counteract drug abuse in our community.
