WASHINGTON, D.C. — Last night, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) hosted a Telephone Town Hall with thousands of North Jersey constituents to discuss his efforts to lower the cost of childcare and learning centers, support our first responders, lower health care costs and utility bills, assist veterans in our community, and make life more affordable for Jersey families. “This Telephone Town Hall was a great opportunity to hear directly from the people that I represent about what’s on their minds,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “In Washington, I’m fighting to cut taxes, lower the cost of childcare, health care, and utility bills, back our cops, EMTs, and firefighters, and make everyday life more affordable for North Jersey families.” Gottheimer took questions directly from constituents and outlined his work to help lower costs for Jersey families, from cutting taxes and reducing the cost of childcare to lowering utility and health care bills. He also highlighted the federal dollars he has clawed back to North Jersey to support our veterans and first responders and to rebuild the community’s roads, bridges, and infrastructure. Gottheimer was joined by Bloomingdale Mayor John D’Amato, Fair Lawn Mayor Cutrone, Bloomingdale Mayor John D’Amato, Sussex County Commissioner Chris Carney, Newton Police Chief Dan Finkle, and Valley Bible Chapel Pastor Bob Hayes. ### 1 2026-09-04T09:19:37Z 2026-09-04T09:20:58Z
