U.S. Representative Sam Graves spoke today in response to President Obamas National Address on combating ISIS. Graves is a member of the House Committee on Armed Services. ISIS has not been contained, Rep. Graves said. In the absence of Americas leadership, ISIS has been able to extend its influence across the globe, as weve seen play out tragically in San Bernardino, Paris, and elsewhere. Last night, the President gave us more of the same tired talking points. What we need is a new strategy to destroy ISIS that will keep America and our allies safe. My colleagues and I on the Armed Services committee recently offered suggestions to increase protections against the threat of foreign fighter travel and to combat homegrown extremism, Graves continued. I will push to see the White House adopt these and other important policies in our fight to defeat radical Islamic terrorism.
