At least one terrorist involved in the Paris attack used a Syrian passport to gain entry into Europe. “President Obama should immediately halt his Syrian refugee program until the United States Intelligence Community can guarantee the program does not pose any threats to our national security,” Congressman Grothman said. “The safety of American citizens should be priority number one. It is clear that Obama’s refugee program does not have the proper tools or the necessary background information to distinguish legitimate Syrian refugees from Islamic State terrorists.” President Obama stood by his plans to allow as many as 100,000 Syrian refugees to relocate to the United States in the coming years. He also downplayed the role radical Islam played in the Friday terrorist attack in Paris. “The tragic terrorist attack committed by Muslim extremists in Paris should be a wakeup call to the United States,” Grothman said. “If we can’t guarantee the safety of our citizens, we should halt our Syrian refugee resettlement program immediately.” U.S. Rep.
