This legislation will replace No Child Left Behind and restore local control in K-12 education. Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Glenbeulah) urged fellow conference committee members to support his amendment keeping funding at current levels until 2020. The amendment passed the House conference committee 9-8, but failed in the Senate conference committee 6-16. “At a time when government spending is completely out-of-control, we need to make fiscal responsibility a top priority.
