It is a tremendous honor to have the opportunity to nominate students to the service academies, and it is a responsibility I take very seriously. Our country’s Military Academies provide young people with world-class military training and an incredible education. The nomination process is highly competitive and graduating from an Academy is no easy task, but these young women and men from the 4th Congressional District are up to the challenge of joining the ranks of other 4th Congressional District nominees which include 5 Star General Douglas MacArthur.” Members of Congress can nominate candidates to four of the five U.S. service academies – the U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth academy – the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT – does not require a congressional nomination.
