Pennsylvania, et al. Members are asking the Supreme Court to address the American people's serious concerns about the constitutionality of various state elections and integrity of the 2020 presidential election. Election laws across several states were amended or suspended in the closing months of the 2020 election by acts of state officials and courts, not state legislatures.I joined 125 of my colleagues and signed onto the amicus brief because I believe the Supreme Court should consider the Texas case on constitutional grounds to ensure that all U.S. citizens are treated fairly and the election was conducted in accordance with state laws, said Hagedorn. The state legislatures in Georgia, Wisconsin, Arizona and Pennsylvania should be empowered to elect electors or refuse to elect electors based upon the law and following the U.S. Constitution, Hagedorn added. The full brief can be read here. Jim Hagedorn was elected in 2018 to represent Minnesota's First District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He grew up on his family's grain and livestock farm near Truman. Jim's father, former U.S. Congressman Tom Hagedorn (MN-02), grandfather, and great-grandfather were all southern Minnesota farmers. Jim currently resides in the rural farming community of Blue Earth. Hagedorn brings policy experience to Capitol Hill from time spent as a congressional aide to former U.S. Congressman Arlan Stangeland (MN-07) and a congressional relations officer for two non-partisan U.S. Department of the Treasury agencies.
