https://hageman.house.gov/media/press-releases/hageman-votes-open-formal-impeachment-inquiry-joe-biden Hageman Votes to Open Formal Impeachment Inquiry of Joe Biden 2023-12-13 2023 2023-12 Republican House WY Harriet M. Hageman H001096 hageman.house.gov hageman https://hageman.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Harriet Hageman voted in favor of H.R. 918, which directs the House Oversight Committee, House Judiciary Committee, and House Ways and Means Committee to continue their ongoing investigations into whether sufficient grounds exist for the House of Representatives to exercise its Constitutional power to impeach President Joe Biden. This resolution sets forth specific procedures regarding the impeachment inquiry, formalizes the impeachment inquiry helping to remove legal ambiguity, and ensures the American people will receive the answers they deserve. Rep. Hageman stated, “Through the work of the Judiciary, Oversight, and Ways & Means committees which has already taken place, we know that there are inconsistencies and outright lies in what President Biden is telling the American people and what is now known to be the truth. It is clear that Joe Biden had some level of interaction with his son Hunter’s businesses – businesses that were set up for the purpose of receiving payments directly from foreign governments and individuals, including many who were outright hostile to the best interests of the United States. The issue is whether we should turn a blind eye to what looks an awful lot like bribery at the highest levels of our government, and whether our foreign policy has been influenced by familial conflicts. We know that Biden has received payments through shell corporations connected to Hunter and James Biden. We have learned that he has sent 5,400 emails under pseudonyms, had lunch with oligarchs and conference calls with Hunter Biden business associates, and that over 150 Biden family bank transactions have been flagged by US banks for review. “The White House has challenged House subpoenas on the grounds that the existing impeachment probe wasn’t authorized. By formalizing the inquiry that is already underway, the legal ambiguity of the investigation will be removed and the ability to enforce subpoenas will be enhanced. The resolution gives the minority party equal rights to question, request, and subpoena witnesses, and allows the President and his counsel the same rights to participate in proceedings as was granted to President Trump. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-08T01:14:16Z
