Congressman Hal Rogers (KY-05) voted for the legislation which provides the largest pay raise for U.S. troops in six years, improves health care for troops and their families, and strengthens our national defense at home and abroad with an investment of $619 billion. "The National Defense Authorization Actprovides the tools and resources that our men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces need to defend our nation, while also taking better care of them and their families at home," said Congressman Rogers. "The legislation also takes important steps to ensure that the dangerous terrorists detained at Guantanamo Bay never step foot on American soil, while boosting resources to combat Islamic extremists, like ISIS, overseas." The NDAA authorizes a $5.8 billion supplemental request for operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and Europe, as well as $3.2 billion for Readiness Stabilization Funding to stop the drawdown of the military, which is fueling the readiness crisis.
