Congresswoman Hanabusa:  The visit by the Japanese Prime Minister to Pearl Harbor just over 75 years after Japan’s attack in 1941 is historic and symbolic of the strong relationship President Obama has forged with Prime Minister Abe and the people of Japan.  President Obama’s historic visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park last May opened the door for greater healing and deeper reconciliation between the two countries.  Prime Minister Abe’s visit to Pearl Harbor on December 27th will honor the 75th Commemoration of Pearl Harbor taking place this Wednesday, December 7, 2016, in Hawaii. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
