But there is still more work to be done; particularly with regard to Latino actors.” “Mr. Maury McIntyre, who is President and COO of the Television Academy, called me immediately after reading my letter and acknowledged the problem,” said Congressman Johnson. “Research shows that only nine Latinos have won a total of 13 Emmys in the entire history of the Emmy Awards. Because the Emmys represent the best in television, myself and Mr. McIntyre are looking at ways to address this problem head on.
