Representative Andy Harris says this plan delivers on the president's promise to invigorate business while increasing the pay checks for average Americans. Harris says these tax breaks will help bring manufacturing jobs back to the shore. The plan includes a decrease in taxes on small businesses from 39.6 percent to 25 percent. The plan also includes a drop in corporate tax rate to 20 percent. Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen says this would be bad news for the shore, that this is more trickle down economics that will increase the national debt by $3-4 trillion over the next ten years. "It's going to increase the number of jobs that come to the eastern shore, it's going to attract companies to the lower shore especially," said Harris. "In Maryland we are going to be especially hard hit because if you're a tax payer you will no longer be allowed to deduct your state and local taxes," said Van Hollen. Harris says the reduced tax brackets will allow small and family owned businesses to reinvest in the economy and create jobs.
