The funding will support dredging in the North East River to remove sediment buildup that has restricted navigation and created safety challenges for commercial and recreational vessels in Cecil County. The project will restore navigability and support ongoing maritime and economic activity in the region. Statement from Congressman Harris: “For years, sediment buildup has made it harder and less safe to navigate the North East River.
