Federal departments funded through this subcommittee’s annual appropriations bill include the Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the Farm Credit Administration. Chairman Harris will also sit on the Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies during the 119th Congress. Dr. Harris has served on the powerful House Appropriations Committee, which is responsible for appropriating funding for the federal government, since 2013.
