Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of a $1,828,263 federal grant to Choptank Community Health System, Inc., located in Denton. The funds were awarded by the Department of Health and Human Services through the Health Center Cluster program. According to the Health Resources and Services Administration, an agency under HHS, the Health Center Cluster Program is aimed at delivering "high quality, culturally competent, comprehensive primary care, as well as supportive services such as health education, translation, and transportation that promote access to health care." Congressman Harris made the following statement: "As a physician, I am particularly concerned about access to quality health care in our rural communities.
