Today, details of the mayor’s “Squeegee Collaborative Plan” were announced showing a shocking guaranteed income program for squeegee kids if they follow a “code of conduct to regulate themselves.” Crime has increased dramatically in Baltimore, including criminal activity related to squeegee kids, with many of the cases involving terrorizing drivers, passengers, and residents. Last week, it was reported that three squeegee kids were arrested for stealing a phone at an intersection and then transferring large sums of money from the victim to themselves via a cash app scam. This comes on the heels of reports of several attempted murder and assault cases involving squeegee kids in Baltimore City. Statement from Congressman Harris: “Now we know why the mayor delayed his announcement until after the election--because Democrats plan to reward criminal behavior with hard-earned taxpayer dollars. Being in the new majority on the House Appropriations committee, I’ll do everything in my power to make sure that not a single federal dime goes to this program that rewards criminal activity.
