The two vehicles currently in-use are in need of constant repairs and have accumulated over 100,000 miles. This purchase will also include additional equipment to support the health and safety of both the officers and passengers. Statement from Congressman Harris: “The work police officers do is vital to the safety and well-being of our communities, and it is highly important that they have the resources needed to do their jobs safely. Any amount of time lost due to outdated and malfunctioning equipment during emergency calls could result in life threatening consequences.
