These bills include: H.R. 6756, the American Innovation Act, H.R. 6757, the Family Savings Act, and H.R. 6760, the Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act. Dr. Harris also voted on a series of bills designed to combat the opioid crisis. Dr. Harris made the following statement lauding the passage of these bills: "This week, the House of Representatives passed a series of bills that will lift the burden of heavy taxes on American families permanently, and will provide relief for those who are struggling due to the opioid crisis. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provided great relief to the American taxpayer. This week's series of bills, known more commonly as Tax Reform 2.0, will lock in the progress we've made in reducing taxes across the board. This progress features important tax cuts for hard-working, middle class taxpayers, including provisions for those earning under $50,000 of income that will reduce their share of the total federal tax burden from 4.2 percent to 3.9 percent. The opioid crisis has hit Maryland pretty hard, but we are committed to strongly combatting this crisis in the House of Representatives. Today, the House made clear that overcoming our opioid epidemic is a top federal priority. I am dedicated to ensuring Marylanders receive greater preventive education, improved access to treatment, and reduced prescriptions of opioids where those prescriptions are unnecessary. Our country deserves long-lasting solutions to the opioid crisis, and I will continue to work with Governor Hogan, President Trump, and the whole of Congress to fight this public health epidemic and support American taxpayers." 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-06-27T23:06:18Z
