Maryland’s First District is home to a robust rural community and many small, family-owned farms. I am confident that the concerns of these communities and farmers will be a priority for the new Interagency Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity.” The President’s executive order directs Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue to work with the rest of the Cabinet to identify and eliminate unnecessary regulations that are harmful to the American agriculture industry. This order also establishes the Interagency Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity, which will examine agricultural issues related to economic development, education, overregulation, and taxation.
