The funding will directly impact fire departments, State Fire Training Academies, and nonaffiliated emergency medical services organizations to enhance their response capabilities and ability to protect the health and safety of the public and first-responders. “Maryland firefighters and first responders are on the front lines every single day, working tirelessly to keep Marylanders safe. This federal funding will help equip our local fire departments with the tools they need to continue doing their jobs safely and providing critical services to Marylanders on the Eastern Shore,” said the lawmakers. The federal grants have been awarded as follows: · $117,323.80 for Kennedyville Volunteer Fire Department to replace Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (“SCBA”) · $49,936.19 for the Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 of Chesapeake City, Incorporated to replace fire hoses · $46,666.66 for the Eldorado Brookview Volunteer Fire Department to install a new cascade air station 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-08T03:08:33Z
