That means more than 65 million seniors will see an additional $140 per month in their Social Security check. This is welcome news and will have a tremendous impact on my constituents in Connecticut,” said Congresswoman Hayes. “Unfortunately, this announcement has also presented an opportunity for scammers and bad actors who try to take advantage of seniors. My office has already begun to hear from constituents about these fraudulent calls. The Social Security Administration will not contact beneficiaries about this announcement by phone and will never ask for a Social Security number or bank account information as a means of verification.
