Jaime accepted the award at PNWA's annual convention in Vancouver. Since 2005, PNWA has annually recognized a member of Congress for their efforts and leadership on behalf of navigation and economic development interests in the Northwest. From PNWA's announcement: Congresswoman Herrera Beutler has been a leader for the maritime sector, and has been a champion for navigation projects on the Lower Columbia River, Snake River, small ports and many other projects throughout our region. Serving on the House Appropriations Committee and Energy & Water Development Subcommittee, she has also demonstrated strong support for the Corps of Engineers, including the robust funding pots for which our projects compete each year in the workplan process. In addition to funding critical infrastructure, Congresswoman Herrera Beutler has taken a lead role in working through regulatory challenges in our region. She has helped to coordinate efforts with federal agencies to bring resolution to these issues, always balancing environmental stewardship with economic opportunity. PNWA has also appreciated her efforts in Columbia River Treaty discussions, and the encouragement she has provided to the State Department to ensure the navigation perspective is considered as negotiations between the U.S. and Canada move forward. Navigation jobs coastal and inland help keep our region afloat. Whether it's ensuring fishing boats can safely get in and out of the Ports of Ilwaco and Chinook, preserving our hydro dams that power Southwest Washington, or keeping the river system open to navigation, I am committed to maintaining our waterway lifelines, Jaime said. This award is a huge honor, and I'm humbled by the recognition of my efforts to make sure our waterways are serving the citizens and economy of Southwest Washington. **Photos of today's award ceremony are available here and here. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
