Diagnosed at age five with Type 1 diabetes, 12-year-old Reagan has made kindness and volunteerism a focus of her young life. Reagan's work to improve opportunities for local students by creating a lending library for her elementary school, reading books to younger children, and championing kindness through anti-bullying campaigns is nothing short of exceptional,said Congressman Hice.Just as admirable is her work to comfort and encourage young patients at the Children's Hospital of Georgia. Through Reagan's Dogs for Diabetes initiative, she has donated 425 stuffed dogs to the Endocrinology Department so that newly diagnosed Type 1 diabetics have a friend' to receive the first shot' as a means to offering comfort to those children. And her volunteer work doesn't stop there. From delivering gifts to teachers, healthcare providers, and seniors in her community to donating food items and clothing to those in need, it is clear that Reagan may be small in stature, but she has a giant and generous heart. Reagan will compete in Orlando next week at the USA National Miss Scholarship Pageant as the Southern Coast Preteen.
