Congress has made significant strides in preserving the history of America's brutal Civil War, and rightfully so. Unfortunately, we have not done the same with many Revolutionary War battlefields and these hallowed grounds of our Nation's founding moments are slowly disappearing with time,said Congressman Hice. This legislation is a critical step forward in preserving the battlefield at Kettle Creek one that has tremendous local support in the community. I strongly believe that the storied grounds of what Colonel Pickens described as the most significant victory of the Southern Campaign, and a place where a young African American Patriot earned his freedom 86 years prior to the end of slavery, is more than significant enough to preserve for future generations.
