The grant will reimburse Stamford Hospital for their emergency response to COVID-19, including an alternative treatment site, drive through testing, designated staff, PPE and plexiglass for health care workers, as well as additional hospital beds, tents, and ventilators. Additionally, the grant will ensure the hospital can continue to effectively respond to the pandemic in the months ahead. “Ensuring our health providers are well-funded is essential to combatting this pandemic and keeping our community safe,” said Himes. “When our community was hit hard in the first few months of this virus, organizations like Stamford Health were crucial in treating patients and saving lives. As we prepare for a surge in cases, it’s more important than ever that hospitals can handle all patients who need treatment.
