In response to the House Armed Services Committee's approval of the National Defense Authorization Act, Congresswoman Kendra Horn released the following statement: As a member of the powerful House Armed Services Committee, I am proud of the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act we passed out of committee today. This critical bill not only authorizes historic funding for our nation's military, it also includes a 3.1 percent pay increase for service members, the largest in a decade. It creates a Tenant Bill of Rights and other key protections for families in military housing, provides critical funding for military construction, and implements my bill that creates scholarships for JROTC students' pilots certificates to address the pilot shortage, and much more. I'm honored to serve on this committee, and I'm proud of the work we have done to support our troops and their families and invest in our nation's security. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to ensure this critical bill passes in the House of Representatives. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
