On Saturday, NASA astronauts were launched to the International Space Station on the first crewed demonstration flight of the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft. The launch represents the first time a private company, working with NASA, has launched astronauts into orbit, nearly a decade after the U.S. space shuttle program was retired. Congresswoman Kendra Horn (OK-5) attended the launch in her capacity on the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. Congresswoman Horn is Chair of the House Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics and introduced the NASA Authorization Act of 2020.
