Congresswoman Horn called for the inclusion of small business relief in the CARES Act, which created the PPP program. Last month, she fought to pass thePaycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act, expanding access to PPP loans. The Paycheck Protection Program has helped many small businesses keep their lights on and their workers employed during the COVID-19 crisis, said Congresswoman Horn. Through this pandemic we have assisted manysmall businesswith PPP.I encourage anysmall businesses who need assistance to apply for PPP before deadline. The Paycheck Protection Program is designed to provide relief for small businesseshelpkeep their workers on the payroll. SBA will forgive loans if all employees are kept on the payroll for24weeks and the money is used for payroll, rent, mortgage interest, or utilities. Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act providesbusinesses with greater flexibility and more time to maximize forgiveness of loans received under the Paycheck Protection Program. The Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act includes the following provisions: Allowing loan forgiveness for expenses beyond the 8-week covered period to 24 weeks and extending the rehiring deadline; Increasing the current limitation on the use of loan proceeds for non-payroll expenses from 25 percent to 40 percent; Extending the program from June 30 to December 31; Extending loan terms from two years to five years; Ensuring full access to payroll tax deferment for businesses that take PPP loans. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
